Hi, I'm Gabi Chun! 你好,我叫陳嘉壁!
When I was 3 years old, I made a bet with my mom that if I could make a homerun in T-ball, I could take dance lessons. It is my first (and only) homerun - and here I am!
I danced competitive tap, jazz and hip hop with Sunset Academy of Dance and Funk Beyond Control. Then, in high school, I auditioned and learned how to sing at SOTA (Ruth Asawa School of the Arts) in the vocal department, specializing in musical theatre. Realizing I loved how singing, dancing, and storytelling intertwined, I auditioned and attended Molloy/CAP21 in New York, graduating Cum Laude with a BFA in Musical Theatre and a minor in Business.
As a Chinese-American, I am constantly navigating what it means to be an Asian-American in theatre and entertainment. Some of my favorite roles include Marcy Park in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, covering three roles (Tricia, Maggie and Judy) in A Chorus Line and singing as a guest performer at the Miss Asian American Pageant in San Francisco. I'm so excited to see where life takes me next and would like to thank my family, friends, teacher and God for always looking out for me and supporting me.
